PRESS: Mercedes-Benz to sell Moscow Region plant

MOSCOW, Aug 26 (PRIME) -- Mercedes-Benz is selling its plant in Moscow Region's town of Yesipovo with Russia's Avtodom holding being the leading contender, business daily Kommersant reported on Friday citing sources.

Mercedes-Benz AG owns 80% in the facility and Daimler Kamaz Rus 20%.

An auto retail source told Kommersant that the deal would also include the Mercedes-Benz’ car sales rights on the Russian market.

A source in a car producer said that the deal is near closure, but Mercedes has some issues with documents.

A representative for the Russian office of Mercedes-Benz said that the car maker was considering various scenarios of its Russian business development.
